Synopsis

Product Description Johnny Ali has no idea how infamous he is. Instead he lives with his snobby, rich aunt and uncle who fear that he may learn the secret to his past and the identity of his parents. It sounds like the beginning of a hit fantasy novel about magic, but it’s a satire (though there’s a dash of genie magic). A satire that is politically incorrect, provocative, and full of humor as dark as an Arabian night. Set in 2003, Johnny Ali vs America examines the War on Terror, flaws and all, from a different perspective, poking fun at some of today’s most sensitive issues along the way: politics, Islamophobia, race, gender, income inequality, privacy, education, and identity. Woven in a style that is part literary and part thriller, Johnny Ali vs America tells the tale of the boy who puts the error in terrorist as he enrolls at a terrorist madrasah, overseen by Osama bin Laden no less. What Johnny learns there will shock and awe. Johnny Ali vs America certainly isn’t the next Great American Novel. Does that make it the next Great un-American Novel?
