Synopsis
"Myron Philpot Phipps, M.S., Ph.D., was acrophobic- he was afraid of high places. He got dizzy on a bar stool- with or without a drink. He was known to have fallen from an upper berth. Yet the success of Project Pluto rested on his uneasy shoulders. He was in love with the beautiful Human Engineer on the project. There was a snafu at headquarters, mayhem in the lab and hanky-panky at the motel. But he had to get Pluto into orbit. Then the lovelorn Project Head, in a last-ditch decision born of necessity, despair and three double-Gibsons, announced he would orbit himself. He thought he could fake it and he hatched a plot. Like everything else on Project Pluto- it malfunctioned." (Source: back cover blurb)
