Synopsis
When Prometheus, a stable attendant, rescues the Prince of Nehemia from a band of assassins in the Land of the Faraways, his life changes in a most dramatic way. Becoming Lord Prometheus plunges him into a world of dark and baffling currents. Just as quickly as they rise to prominence, he and his family are cast into the dungeons because of scheming members of the Nobility. To deliver their parents, Parsifal and Shanara-Prometheus' two older children-set off on a quest to find the truth and to free their father from charges of high treason. With the aid of the Lady of the Light, they followed a path, replete not only with peril but also with adventures, that took them into the Kingdom of Oblivia and to the House of Truth-the sacred Ninth House. Their ride for the truth is a desperate one, for the King of Nehemia has given them only forty days to return with the truth-on the day of the Feast of the Sephracals. Along their journey they encounter hurdles of awe-inspiring proportions and experience many trials. Furthermore, they crash headlong into the most woeful tale of love and betrayal imaginable and succeed in freeing Prince Parragon and Lady Melanore by breaking a staggering curse that has kept them in darkest despair. Having secured the truth, the siblings embark on a long ride home. This journey takes them through four other sacred houses in the Land of Evermore: the House of Consequences, the House of Tranquility, the House of Harmony, and the House of Love. Along the way, the mighty Pasadaynian, a notorious outlaw, protects the siblings from enemies sent to stop them. Despite setbacks, they vindicate their father-just barely in time.
