Mistress of the Bones

Synopsis

● "Lou Hernando, Quin and Mike's friend is murdered on a mysterious island of Tango Key. The primary suspect is Hernando's 17-year-old sidekick, a refuge from a troubled family. In Lou's home, a repository of secrets from a time when pirates roamed the island, there are unexpected rustlings and the faint scent of jasmine. Lou left behind a trail of heartbroken women, but the object of his erotic obsessions was Luz, a Cuban slave woman whose image adorns the main room of the house, and who has been dead 300 years. The investigations lead Quin and Mike through a mix of journal entries, hidden passages, unidentified rustlings and e-mail messages." ― paraphrased from this book's product page on Amazon.com as of 2025-01-14.
