Synopsis
Plagued by inexplicable and mounting casualties the plight of the Venus mission is rapidly dwarfed: suddenly at risk is the whole of the human race. The impact is global. Heavily armed and defended Space Centres prepare for the worst; from the devastated Chinese mainland comes the first chill warning to the world's leaders: Surrender, and survive...or face annihilation. When finally a handful of men make their last crucial moves to defy an apparently invincible power, the battleground has escalated into near-space and at stake then is nothing less than the fate of the spinning blue ball of the Earth itself.
