Petroleum Star

Synopsis

IN THE FUTURE, fossil fuels won't exist anymore. Everybody knows that...don't they? But Big Oil refuses to die. They engineer an outlandish solution: a giant planet made of crude oil, frozen solid in the vacuum of deep space. A world of high gravity, heavy industry, and perpetual stellar night. Petroleum people walk its airless, blacktop surface. Sculptures of frozen crude oil, animated by molecular electronics, they work around the clock for Chevron, Shell, and Texaco. And one man dares to dream of escape. Sci-fi bookworm Horton Sphere is "accidented" into this bizarre future. But it's up to him to solve the paradox of this dark star - or else be marooned there for eternity... Prefer your science fiction "industrial-strength"? Then PETROLEUM STAR may be your cup of (Texas) tea!
