Synopsis
Product Description Science fiction / adventure, suitable for readers of all ages. Combines "James Bond" style plot with "Stars Wars" type environment. From the Author JK Books is a small operation, putting out old fashioned science fiction, the way it was meant to be. Our storylines are action-adventure based, and suitable for readers of all ages. We have tried to recreate the fun, exciting feel of the old classic movie serials in our novels. Imagine a cross between Star Wars and James Bond, and you're beginning to get the picture. I'm very fond of the characters, and I know you'll be, too. Despite the technology of the galaxy they live in, the people are pretty much like you and me. They have humor, they have faults, they have their high moments and their dark times. In short, they're real. Get to know them!! From the Back Cover The Sky Is A Very Unfriendly Place... Trevor Banta was a hard-working student, trying to make the grades that would gain him entrance into the military of the Allied Free Planets. A young man from a large, middle-class family, he was looking for a good, solid career. Deacon Barimus had a solid job, although he was bored with it. A young man with no family, he had survived the roughness of his earlier years in government-run institutions. Now, he was a delivery pilot, about to be married. When these two meet, their lives will be forever changed... The Allied Free Planets and their rival superpower, the Intergalactic Council, are in the midst of a galactic Cold War. One power-hungry Council commander, however, has determined that this is about to change. The AFP will finally be brought to its knees; its people enslaved. The strike he has prepared will be remembered in galactic history. Finding themselves victims of this attack, Trevor and Deacon must first realize that they can trust each other; not an easy task for two headstrong individuals. Then, they must warn the galaxy about this new threat. But what happens when the galaxy won't listen? About the Author Syd DeFraites was originally born in the New Orleans area, but has been a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast for over ten years. Dividing time between writer, husband, father, architectural designer, music minister, sci-fi collector, and computer gamer, Syd's days are full (until, of course, they invent the 36-hour day!) Syd lives on the beach in Mississippi (but rarely has time to go there, go figure) with his wife Angela, daughter Michelle, and dog Indiana. He has currently authored six novels in the Stareagle Adventures series, and is currently at work on more novels in the series.
