The Mark of Merlin

Synopsis

"Carla Murdock's nervousness about going to live with her guardian in his lonely New England home seems to be justified when she meets him for the first time: Major Regan Laird is a strange and bitter man. Once handsome, half of his face is now disfigured by a recent war wound. And strange occurrences add to Carla's uneasiness, forcing her to believe that her officer father was not killed in battle, but murdered … and that her own life is now in danger"
