Having a special secret is cool. Like the special secret Kevin Broderick shares with his twin sister Katie and their little brother Sam … the secret of the magical silver doorway in their aunts basement, a doorway that leads to another world. Kevin learning to swordfight? Cool. Katie studying magic? Cool. Adventures, elves, dragons, treasure, talking animals? All extremely cool. Dangerous, sometimes … but still, very cool. Until something bad happens to Aunt Ellie. Thats not cool. Shes been poisoned … or enspelled … or something. No way is that cool. Her cat Chester cant help. Her boyfriend Cal cant help. Its up to Kevin, Katie and Sam. They have to go through the silver doorway and find a counterspell or an antidote before its too late. They dont have a guide this time. They dont know where theyre going. They dont know what theyre looking for, or what kind of enemies might be trying to stop them. And theyve got Kevins friend Toby, who just ran away from home, insisting on coming along for the ride.
