Synopsis

The global invasion begins in full as nearly immortal Sumerian sorceress Tarina directs terrifying armies of re-embodied human "ghosts" and alien monsters against a world that has already failed to give her the near omnipotence she so devoutly seeks. With her nightmarish assault forces arriving at locations critical to the stability of the Earth's crust, conventional attack means risking the entire biosphere. Soon enough only the remaining Piper's kids and their comrades will stand in the way of global conquest--but that might be tricky considering the Crystal Ship's crew are busy dealing with a newly risen continent in the Atlantic, a strange metal sarcophagus the size of a grain silo that emerges from that former ocean floor...and most troubling of all, a restored Manannan, whose unexpected return to freedom has left Aramander, Tadalfi and the others virtual captives aboard his incredible flying vessel. And Piper's-kid-maybe Keith Eagle and his lady April Corrigan, fresh from that thrilling concert at the Crazy Horse monument, run into their mysterious friend (Ether, a Lovecraftian horror to behold but trustworthy in the past), who proceeds to lead them straight into the realm of the dreaded Hat Men. Then there's Chance Lagrange and his "ward," the fearsome Marego, but they're pretty busy too...not to mention halfway across the galaxy. And even if these seemingly meager and obviously far flung resistance forces do miraculously manage to come together in time, do they have a Lagrange at saving the Earth?
