Daughter of the Shining Isles

Synopsis

First paperback edition of one of Booklist's "ten best fantasy novels of 2000". Writing from her own passionately feminist perspective with a vision of spiritual health beyond shame, Cunningham gives us a Mary Magdalen for our times: Maeve, a feisty Celt, raised by warrior witches to a life of heroism. When she arrives on a magical Druid island, she meets her cosmic twin [J]Esus of Nazareth. Once together, their destiny of passion and courage unfolds. This first volume of The Magdalen Trilogy brings us a vital young woman who is already claiming her place among the great literary heroines of our age.
